Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

This is very much off subject but I don't know where else to ask the question
I just tried to send and email using Win7 and Windows Live Mail.
I tried to type " D$=Str$(D)" but the D in brackets turns into a picture of a Martini.
Any answers.
Paul.

edit. I got around the problem by typing it in Notepad and copy and paste.Edited by palcal 2014-06-08

Paul,

You've got it fixed now but I was going to say drink the Martini and then see how it looks...

Cheers,

Just found that typing any character in brackets gives an emoticon.
Seems like a bug in Windows Live Mail.

Just Googled and found that this is a feature of Windows Live Mail and it is possible to disable.

Paul, that's great - another unwanted Windows 'feature'. Some day I'll learn how to turn all that stuff off. Oh, wait - that's called Windows XP.

Grogs, is 'Father Jack' Jack Daniels by chance or do you guys down under have something you're holding out on us ??

Sorry - should have been more specific: Father Jack from the BBC comedy series Father Ted. Father Jack was an alcoholic, and had a very limited vocabulary, and "Drink!" was his favourite word. Edited by Grogster 2014-06-09
