Is it possible to set the SPI speed on the Micromite to 18KHz or less? I am trying to hook up a Crystalfontz CFA-634 LCD using the SPI interface to a Maximite and it's not working. I did some searching on the internet and found a comment stating a CFA-634 has a maximum SPI speed of 18KHz and the Maximite only goes down to 50KHz. The Micromite docs appear to indicate you can set a specific speed, where the Maximite has three predefined choices of H (3MHz), M (500KHz) or L (50KHz). i'm hoping a Micromite can fix my problem.

No one has answered this one so I will have a go, my limitation is that I don't have a Micromite with me to test.

I am not sure exactly what the minimum SPI speed is. I never tested it during development and it is dependent on the baud rate generator implemented in silicon. But it should go well below 18KHz - so you should be OK.

As with many subtle details with the Micromite/Maximite, the best way to find the answer is to just connect it up and "give it a go".

Thanks for the reply Geoff. Right after I posted my question, I decided to bite the bullet and went ahead and ordered a couple of Micromite chips from CircuitGizmos. If the Micromite SPI works with the Crystalfontz LCD thats great, if not I'm sure I can use them with some other crazy project idea.
