Hi Guys

New member, just starting with Maximite.

Trying to get my Maximite working with a Jaycar IR receiver module (ZD 1952) with a carrier of 37.9KHz.

I have used Geoff's circuit and code fragment (page 10 of MMBasic Language Manual V4.5)and the code loop runs OK but doesn't detect any remote key codes. I get continuous zeros for the Device Code and also zeros for the Key code.I suspect the carrier frequency of the sender does not match the frequency of the receiver sufficiently closely.

I have tried a couple of different old remotes I have around the house.

Can anyone suggest how to measure the carrier frequency of the various remotes? Can the Maxi be programmed to read the carrier frequency of a remote unit sending to it?

Cheers Ken

The IR command is not affected by the frequency, that is handled by the receiver and even if the frequency of the receiver is a little different from the transmitter you will still get a signal (with less sensitivity).

Your problem could be caused my a wiring error or not using a Sony remote (as suggested by Bill).
