Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hello,

I received a new CGMMSTICK and after some "fun" getting it to work with Windows 8
I tried some of the MMBasic examples. Most worked well.

Some of the MMBasic programs complained that certain commands were not implemented in the version of MMBasic on the CGMMSTICK1 (4.0).

I followed the firmware update process (to 4.5)to the letter and it seemed to work perfectly.

Now when I plug the stick into the USB port the green power LED does not turn on. I re-installed the USB software (set to COM:3) and I get a yellow triangle over the USB symbol in the hardware manager.

Does the CGMMSTICK1 REQUIRE the version 4.0 firmware to work properly?

(Worried now about my 'broken' stick...)

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

I have two CGMMSTICKs and have updated both to MMBasic 4.5 without any problems. My first thought is that you may have used the wrong firmware. Did you use the firmware for a monochrome Maximite?

Thank you!

I could have sworn the CGMMSTICK was color and that is what I used!
Using the monochrome firmware the device runs 4.5 without a problem!

Many, many thanks!
Whew!

When I initially started playing with MaxiMites, I came across the CGMMSTICK, and I assumed the 'C' in CGMMSTICK meant 'Colour'!!

Good Guess Curtis
