Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

You can change it easily enough via the serial terminal but if you want a computer with FILES etc then it's a Maximite I think.

Thanks
My programs are pretty short (and loops)
I guess I'll have 1 long program with several
'reminders to direct to differant 'subroutines'

You're not missing anything.

The MicroMite is a MICRO-controller, not a computer per-se', whereas the MAXImite is a computer - as it has a keyboard, monitor, and SD card storage.

The MicoMite is a one-program device, as you have guessed. No SAVE or FILES, as there is no SD card - temporarily ignoring the fab MMC by Oldbitcollector.....

It's just like the PICAXE or Arduino in that respect - runs the one program code you put in it, and by DEFAULT, there is no ability to access external storage, unless you add that youself.

I knew (obviously) it had no external storage.
I figured it would address the internal storage
the same way the MaxiMite addresses the SD ....
But that is fine ... As I said above, 1 long program
with stopping places is OK for my purposes ....

@oldbitcollector. The above raises a good point; and a feature that was useful on the MaxiMite:
I am not near my MMC at the moment so I can't try this right now - and hence this post.

Is there a way that one running .bas program can call/load/run another .bas program? OR do you need 'manual' intervention to do SD operations?

I missed this question/thread. I apologize.

I had this feature on my "todo" list until Geoff increased the capability of the BASIC to 54k. I've been a bit "up in the air" on this since as I've never used more than about 17% of the 54k I have.

Is there still reasoning to have this ability with the memory we have now?
