Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi all.

Can you use the PIC32MX170F256B-I/ML as the basis of a 170 series MicroMite?

I think the "Normal" part number is PIC32MX170F256B-50I/SP.

The I/ML will be only a 40MHz part, but I don't care about the 50MHz speed for now.

Essentially - what is the difference between the I/ML part, and the I/SP part?

In my case, I am planning to get the QFN package version of the skinny-DIL, but just need to make sure that the QFN part number listed above, is still essentially the same chip as the skinny, albeit in the tiny QFN footpriint.

EDIT: I just found the answer to my own question on page 328 of the datasheet for the PIC32 in question - please ignore this post - perhaps delete it?Edited by Grogster 2014-09-16
Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops!
