Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

QUESTION ASCII terminal

Hi Geoff !

Can you install a command " CURSOR OFF / ON CURSOR " ?

Can you install the extended ASCII character set ?
Important are the German special characters such as Ä - Ö - Ü - ° .

In the ASCII diagram " SINGLE CHIP CONTROLLER " , the polarity when 10yF Elko wrong.

with thanks in advance

Hallo.

It could be easily done. The reason why I did not do it in the first place is that the VT100 did not have cursor off/on.

Does anyone know of a standard escape code for this function used in terminal emulators (eg, Tera Term)?

No, this one would be difficult. It would involve a major firmware change and then I would have to do French and all the other character sets.

Thanks, I will fix it.

Grogs, are you showing off your talents or did you use Google translate?

I think DEC used a different (non-ESC) sequence for cursor on/off.

DECTCEM

I understand CSI is 0x9b and cursor off is thus (all hex): 9b 3f 32 35 6c
with cursor on as (hex) 9b 3f 32 35 68

I have no love for the 9b!
