Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Depends on what you want to do.

The sheild pinout can be found here among other places - scroll down a little.

You'll need the 3v3 and GND connections for power, but depending on what interface you need back to the Arduino, some of the other pins as well. A4 and A5 are the I2C bus.

You could use the CMM pinout as a guide.
Most critical will be the RX/TX (serial), SDA/SCL (i2c) and MISO/MOSI/SCK (spi).

then the PWM/Digital and analog pins to get as good a match as possible.

Actually for this project (USB Midi-Synth)
all I'll hook up is COM out and Tx Rx . It's
interesting though the power permutations.
(3.3 vs/and 5.0 Volt)
Depending on what's used for power and what's
supplied/needed by whatever 'shields' one uses.

By the time I put in a USB-Serial gizmo there was
not enough room for the MicroMite to be comfortable,
so I used a PicAxe (also is OK with 5V that the synth needs)
Need the type cable with the circuit on the other end ...
(which I don't like for some reason ?)
Or a MicroMite with USB built in would be groovy
