Looks good,

What is it? (to me it looks like you will send it up in a rocket or something.)

HAB (High Altitude Ballooning). Lots of interesting info if you Google "hab balloon tracker". Looks like Jed's off to near space again!

paceman is correct I use it for High Altitude Ballooning but it could track rockets/model aircraft ect

It uses a 10mw licence free transmitter on 434.xxx Mhz to transmit DATA (there is another post on here that details one of the prototype test flights)

The power supply is a single AA/AAA Lithium with a very efficient (94%) 3.3v step up regulator, I am testing one now with an AAA its on 60 Hours so far

To get the endurance the RTC puts the CPU to sleep in between transmits and disable every thing I don,t need on the GPS

In sleep mode it draws just less than 6ma

Well I guess Phil (White Wizzard) won't complain - nothing like a consumable processor for business!

And 0.83v - a true last gasp. How did you manage to get a trackable signal out at that level. I guess it's probably been downed by a Russian SAM by now!
