Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi All,

I'm trying to connect my Colour Maximite to a Raspberry Pi via USB. The connection fails. Syslog shows:-

device descriptor read/64, error -32

The CMM is self powered and has just been flashed to MMBasic 4.5

The Pi is a model B (not the just released B+) but has been rpi-updated, apt-get update, apt-get install. The OS is a very recent version of Raspbian in any case.

Tried knocking things back down to USB 1.0 speeds with dwc_otg.speed=1, in /boot/cmdline.txt, still no good.

The Raspberry Pi of course has had a long history with USB problems because the Pi is actually using a USB On The Go chip which normally would see use in a mobile device not a host computer. Tends to trigger all sorts of unexpected bugs.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone has "been there, done that" and had more success than me?

Steve.

I had no problems with a B+

You could use a USB-TTL converter and COM1 on the CMM
