Hi All, MuP-Mini has arrived from The PCB Fab house. I am a bit biased but this board looks absolutely beautiful.. It is 15mm x 15mm square and is considerably smaller than an Australian 5c coin. I havent yet completed the Manual for it so it will be a few days before this project is complete but I have successfully programmed and `flashed an LED' with it. Anyway for what its worth here are the preliminary pictures of MuP-Mini with a 5c coin and a standard SIM for size comparisons.. I havent yet worked out prices but I am thinking along the line of Bare PCB $1 Full Kit $9 Fully built $15 This is NOT an easy build, due to the component's small sizes but I am sure that those with experience with SMD will find it easy enough. I, myself, lost a couple of resistors and a capacitor whilst building this one as they are so small (0805 SMD size).. The HUGE yellow blob is a standard 1206 size 47uf cap. Anyway full details will be added when a complete manual is available and will be posted in my `Micks shameless self promotion' thread. Regards, Mick PS. Special Thanks to Grogster for suggesting this idea in the first place. Mik Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

Mick Subject to reading the manual, I'll take a couple of full built units. I haven't yet found my soldering iron after my recent move. @TZA I like the name NanoMite Bob |

Hi Bob, Do you no longer `linger longer at Yarrawonga"? I hope to have the manual finished today or tomorrow.. It isn't going to be too large as It is really just a hardware manual as beginners will not be rushing into this one. I moved a couple of months back Mick. Check my profile. If I take up your offer I'll send you a PM with an address. I'm too far away from you for me to drop in. I'm 100km from the Hume & Northern Ring Road junction and in the wrong direction from you. Gone from countryside to bayside now. |

Hi Tz, I like that name.... I have been pressured to use it instead of MuP-Mini.. Would it be OK with you if I Adopted NANOMITE? Regards, Mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

Hi Bigmik, this is really an excellent unit. This might force me to get a reflow oven going. I was looking for an excuse for a while and this I believe is it. When will the boards be available? |

Hi Mick, Sure NanoMite is yours. :) Now I will have to go after the PicoMite. :) Microblocks. Build with logic. |

@ viscomjim - Yeah, I must finish my wee reflow oven myself! It's half done, I just have to hook it all up and write the micromite code for it. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

I use a hotplate. Found it to perform better than a re-flow oven. (I talk about home made ones) Microblocks. Build with logic. |

Hi Tz, Thanks for the name... Its pretty cool Methinks.. @Jim, More or less available now Jim,I am just finalising the manual but I will prefer that any one interested to read the manual so they know exactly what it offers before the big leap for a $1 PCB. Mick Grogs, Tz, I am interested in home brew solder wave stations... what is involved exactly..? I use Solder paste and/or Gel Flux and huge magnifying lenses to do this baby. Not wave based. Just a cheap toaster oven redone to "Cook" your SMD. Homemade Reflow Oven Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Lads, Lasses, MuP-Mini has been released as the `NanoMite'! Due to popular demand the name was changed to the one suggested (and approved for use by TZAdvantage), and is probably a more apt name. I have placed all details and a link to the manual in my blatantly `commercial' post. Here Micks Offerings Regards, Mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

Hi Mick, As promised - I have also placed a link to the Manual on MicroMite.org withinn the product page for the NanoMite. Hope the wording is ok! Just have to wait for the pigeon to arrive with the PCBs. If it arrives in the next two days then I can build a few before I go away - mind you, I reckon I will be divorced before I'm even married!! Let me know if you need anything changed! WW For everything Micromite visit micromite.org Direct Email: whitewizzard@micromite.o |

Hello Members, I'm new to Forums and don't know if this is a proper place. I just picked a recent thread, but have just received MuP ver2 boards from Mick and they are really good quality . I have a stepper driving project in mind and will get to it when the silly season permits Looking forward to the association with this chip. Cheers, Peter |

Hi Peter, And Welcome to the Back Shed (TBS) Forum. On the top of the screen you will see SEARCH, just click on that and enter word or words to look for and then select either TOPIC or MESSAGE BODY to search for those words. If you cannot find exactly what you want click on NEW TOPIC which is up the top of screen but a bit lower than search. Regards, Mick PS. Thanks for the nice words about MuP, I hope they live up to your expectations. Mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |
