Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi Oldbit If you read the article and run the program mentioned http://garden.geoffg.net you will see a pointer to the code that was used. regards cliff Cliff |

<face palms> The only place that made sense to look... I failed to see.. I guess I was distracted by all the other data displayed... ..I swear there wasn't a code link the other day when I first tried the site.. really. Thanks. My Propeller/Micromite mini-computer project. |

At least Geoff did mention 'MicroMite' on 5 pages out of the 6 page article - I guess he can't be too 'pushy' about the MicroMite with the article title used. Anyway - its a great article, and assuming you have the latest ESP firmware, it is a fantastic help to get things started with the cheap WiFi module. I took a while to get things working so I thought I could save someone some time if I posted some info. I downloaded the program Jman posted a link to on this thread on the 4th December and had to make a few changes to make it work: change the baud rate from 115200 to 9600: Open "COM1:9600, 1024" As #1 change the expected response to the AT+RST command: SendCmd "AT+RST", "OK" These changes are only required due to differences in the firmware of my ESP8266 module. After dragging the old issue of Silicon Chip where Geoff was discussing the ESP8266 to the..... this morning I decided to have a look at garden.geoff.net, & sort of expected it to be off-line as it now is. Still interested on what might be the current approach. Am currently viewing my projects remotely in a Terminal app(VT100) via ESP link, but a much more appealing option would be to be able to see all my "projects" online via something like a simple layout on a page at "http://heating.philsstuff.com.au".
