Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

A couple of projects I have been working on needed a ZIF socket on a breadboard on one and a micromite with screw terminals on the other. They don't come "standard" or quickly.

So out with a couple of bits of PCB scrap and the junk box.

The trouble with ZIF on breadboard is the shortness of the pins on the ZIF and only one row of pins down one side and two on the other - not enough. This version gives three rows each side plus a bus line down each side for power.

Not pretty, but it works.

Handy.... I would prefer the screw terminals to be replaced with the spring type.
I think they are a bit bigger but much easier.

@ Paul

The idea was to make the board a permanent item to plug peripherals into.

Besides, the connectors were the only permanent sort I have in the goodies box.

The Zif board has already proved its fiddly construction's worth.

Nice to see you around the forums again, MOBI. Where have you been hiding?
