Hello, Does anyone know what brand/model microcontroller is used for the Fischer Paykel washing machine? Can the processor be reprogrammed or is it locked down? Cheers Thankyou. Regards Darcy Randall, Perth Western Australia |

I'm curious as to why you want to know. I used to repair such appliances and I doubt very much if you would be able to reprogram the micro. There would be no provision on the board for in circuit programming and it would be almost impossible to remove it. Then you would have to identify the chip and find a programmer that would flash it. And that all depends on if the micro is indeed reprogrammable. Many companies use OTP types. |

the processor has a heap of io including an A/D converter the ability to drive a motor etc. it would be ideal for all manner of projects not to mention free from the tip Thankyou. Regards Darcy Randall, Perth Western Australia |

Hi Darcy, Have you got a picture of one? Or the text that is written on one of the chips? Also can you identify the GND/5V/3v3/ lines and anything else that may make it easier to identify? Like pins the crystal (if any) connect to the freq of that crystal. Etc. Etc. It may be a special ie. gate array or anything if its unmarked.. A trick DEC used to do was use standard 74xx series chips but have them packaged upside down (the pins went up instead of down) and they could then re-brand with their own part Numbers.. I googled the text on the chip but nothing came up. I know companies such as xilinx allow others to print their own labels on the chips. Thankyou. Regards Darcy Randall, Perth Western Australia |

Hi Darcy, Any chance of a photo of the chip with legible Numbers/letters? Or at least type out the text itself.. Also the logo if it has any.. To my (failing these days) memory Xilinx were big on Programmable gate arrays and the like that were programmed/configured using FORTRAN so to be able to re-purpose them might be pretty difficult.. 367020124 V39 390 0526 321 There are no logos on this chip. There appears to be a footprint but no connector for what may be a programming port. EEPROM ST95040 Crystal (Not sure what frequency). I tried taking a photo but it is far too blury. Cheers Thankyou. Regards Darcy Randall, Perth Western Australia |

It is a custom micro from Infineon. Not reprogrammable because it is ROM-based. http://rittle.org -------------- |
