Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Could there be a broken track on the PCB at the VGA output? If possible, perform a continuity check between each vga socket pin and the relevant point on the PCB. Not all pins are connected so refer to circuit diagram. VGA Pins 9, 13, and 14 are worth checking first. Use a component lead off-cut (i.e. from a resistor) and insert it into one of the VGA socket holes, then use this to check for any breaks possibly at the point the VGA pins are soldered onto the PCB. If the monitor cable was 'strained' in some way then it is possible a track is broken (probably more likely to be a sync pin - otherwise you will see a 'strange' colour display if the R, G, or B signals were lost). Also, do you have the means to reload the firmware? This will eliminate any software related issue (which I have never come across before - but maybe worth doing if the above continuity checks are all ok). Let us know if you find out what is causing the issue! WW For everything Micromite visit micromite.org Direct Email: whitewizzard@micromite.o |

Hi Crossty, are you using VGA or COMPOSITE? Maybe the option setting has been corrupted and reset back to a mode that cannot be displayed on the screen you are using (sounds the most logical cause).. It has been a while since I have played with a maximite so I cannot remember the command to st for the various display modes. Crossty, Have a read of the manual in the CONFIG section and the OPTION section there are commands there that change the way the Video is displayed. Eg. CONFIG COMPOSITE NTSC | PAL | DISABLED or CONFIG VIDEO OFF | ON OPTION VIDEO OFF or OPTION VIDEO ON Mik Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

I suggest sending a photo of the board and where it is. A greenhouse sounds like a pretty hostile place for a circuit board. John B. |
