Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

MMedit V3.6.0 is available for download from http://www.c-com.com.au/MMedit.htm

There are too many changes to provide a simple ZIP attachment this time.

Changes in this version:
Help file changed to CHM format with an index. I will add hyperlinks later.
Support for the Micromite Plus.
You can now have an unlimited number of syntax files to allow for any new devices.
Support for a "library" where you can save user sub and functions.
Colour support added to VT100 terminal
Added ability to change default colours in editor and VT terminal.
Added warnings for buffer overflow in terminal
Added command line buffer in terminal ASCII mode - the last 30 commands remembered between sessions.

As there are a lot of changes, there is likely to be a few problems.
The Micromite Plus is still in Beta phase so there will likely be an update to MMEdit as the changes to the Plus evolve.

The "check for update" menu item doesn't work.
I will have that fixed for the next update.

No snow today, back to a frost this morning.

Jennene hadn't played in the snow since she was a little kid

Hi folks.

Latest version.

- If you open an existing port, but not the MM port(by mistake!), you can't close the transfer window, and you then can't close MMEDIT either - you have to force a close via task manager.

Not sure if Jim knows about this or not, but thought I would just post it in case.

What sort of device was it?

When I try to upload to my modem, MMEdit eventually gives up - as I designed it.

I have added some more code to check for closing the window.
That will allow you to break out sooner.

It should have gone through the above sequence eventually.

Hey there.

I get nothing.

What device? - NONE. I had accidentally selected COM1, which IS present, but had nothing on it at the time. I was supposed to select COM3. As COM1 was there to be opened, it opened it, and the window comes up for the transfer wizard, but then I can't close the window or MMEdit. Try opening a port you know is there, but does not have a MM on it, and you should see what I mean.

Also, file transfer does not want to work for me.
I can select the file I want on the PC, tell the transfer wizard to send it to the MM+, and that works, but the file is then not there.

The process completes fine, and the transfer wizard reports "All done!" without any error messages of any kind, but when you check the files list, the file is not on the SD card.

I seem to be able to read a file from the MM+ to a file on the PC, but I can't send one from the PC to the MM+

Not sure what is going on there.....

I will try to make a short video of the problems and put up a link.

MM+ doesn't support XMODEM to a file.
All you can do at this stage is transfer into MM+ memory, much the same as the MM

Geoff might add the ability to transfer to and from files but we shall have to wait and see.

Once I know what's in the release version of MMBasic for the MM+, I will adapt the file manager to suit.

I don't have any problems with serial ports that have nothing connected.
This update has the improved exit routines.
Can you test with your COM1 again. Hopefully, you can close the transfer window now but I am not sure why it hung on your system so don't be surprised if it still hangs.

This update can only be used with V3.6.0
Replace the mmedit.tkn file in the program folder with this one.
There are no other significant changes.

Cheers.

I did not realize that transfers to MM+ memory, but now I know, that's fine.

I could transfer a file on the MM+ SD card to the PC, you see, which is what was confusing me - I expected that you could also send to a file. No big deal.

The COM port thing might just be my machine - I will update and post the results.

Are you sure that it was a file off the SDcard that you transferred to the PC?

As far as I know, with beta23, you can only transfer the program in memory in either direction.

I haven't been able to reproduce the error but there are a few changes I can make to (hopefully) stop it happening.

I will post an update later today.
