Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

It works fine now on W10. As long as you are receiving updates you should find it is now working.

It is actually better than in W7 as you no longer have to remove and replug the connection with teraterm closed to see the com port.

Powered over USB.
See serial device com 20 with MS driver version 10.0.10240.16401 date 21.06.2006.

No connection....., reset, plug/unplug...

Was the Baudrate important ????

38400 as normal on a newly flashed chip. The driver version is exactly the same as I've got. I've just tested powering over USB and all good.

Mea Culpa,

38400 Baud.
I had the opinion ( read it somwhere) that the Baudrate doesn' matter for USB Connections...

it basically works !!, Hurra!

Reset or plug/unplug doesn't work.
That needs a restart of terraterm and press of enter key.

Same result as white wizzard has reported:

"Power for E64 was not externally powered (i.e. supplied through USB cable) and after firing up TT I could select a COM port. Then had to press enter to get the 'Welcome' message (showing B36).

However, if I do a soft reset (with WATCHDOG 1), or a hard reset (press the reset button), then the connection is lost. In this scenario I just 'Disconnected' within TT, and then established a New Connection. "

Thank you !

I made a usb-serial in a pic16f1455 and can tell that USB does not care about a baudrate. When you change the baudrate in TT then the USb-Serial software is instructed to setup the outgoing hardware uart part of the soloution to that specific baudrate.
When there is no other hardware to communicate with and the data stays in the software there is no point in having a baudrate.
I don't know how the implementation in the PIC32 is, but i suspect when there is no hardware uart there is no specific need for a baudrate.

Microblocks. Build with logic.

Hi,

can confirm, that the configured Baudrate in TT doesn't matter.
Tested it in TT and Putty.

My post above was wrong, i flashed the wrong firmware ;-(.

You get the mmbasic prompt, no matte if Baudrate is set to any value...

THX
