Hi all. ![]() Do any of the members here, have any links to sites where I can buy some pullys? I would prefer toothed-belt type pullys, and am looking for 6:1 or greater ratio setup. I have done a search of eBay, but surprisingly, pullys are not a common thing there, and even Mr. Google is not really giving me the goods - mainly points to automotive pullys, and I want the smaller ones you see on 3D printers and CNC machines. If anyone knows of any sites that sell these things - and can send to New Zealand, then please do post the links here. Thanks. ![]() EDIT: The only set I have found so far which is workable is this one on eBay. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Hi I have bought small bearings from here before, although it was a couple years ago, and had no problems with the online sale then. This link may be useful regarding your pulleys http://www.hobbyparts.com.au/store/categories/pulleys+grooved+categories/ Cheers |

Hi Grogs, This link images shows lots of pictures of them that you can probably chase them from. Seems that adding "stepper motor pulley" into the Google search helps. Greg |

Maybe Ebay is picky on spelling... pulley vs pully I see quite a few for NC DIY usage |

What about chain and sprockets? I've used them to build a CNC table because its easier to adjust a length of chain than a toothed belt. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Thank you everyone - I now have some more leads to chase. @ Gizmo - never thought of chains and sprockets - that is a great idea - I will search for that too. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Grogster, Include GT2 in the search terms. This is the 2mm toothed belt that is commonly used for 3D printers. There is plenty of cheap parts for GT2. For plain pulleys and gears try Wiltronics. |

The actobotics line from servocity.com (also sold thru Sparkfun) is high quality but a little pricey... RC oriented but I've built a 3D printer and cnc blueray laser from some of that stuff. Good selection of micro bearings and shafting too! Frank |

Oh Yeah...there is also Stock Drive Products in USA http://shop.sdp-si.com Where else can you get a Geneva mechanism or ratchet and pawl for your 6:1 reduction instead of boring belts! Good luck... Frank |
