Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Coming into the discussion totally cold but I would imagine the 32.768MHz crystal is for a Real Time Clock and therefore needn't be removed? There will be two padding capacitors with the crystal but these would only require changing if the 20 MHz rock's requirements differ from the 8 MHz rock's. Do you have specs on the 20 MHz's requirements? Bill |

Specs for the crystal I used are here... I think I read if you order it correctly for a Micromite they supply it with the 20Meg crystal & don't include the 32.768. Phil. |

Can't think why the board would have a 32.768 MHz crystal for any reason but a RTC but I wouldn't think leaving it in situ would impact changing the main crystal to 20 MHz. You need 15pF "load" (terrible term) capacitors for that crystal. What did the 8 MHz crystal require? I suspect something very similar but the schematic should show what was used. I'm not familiar with the SNADPIC board. Bill Bill |

The 32.768 MHz crystal is still on mine, seems to do no harm. Latest F4 Latest H7 |

So i should be right to try and load the firmware once I double check my soldering. |

Not sure what to be expecting here. I don't seem to see any activity. No appearances in Device manager & no pin activity as described in the manual. There is a bit of confusion between the manual & the sellers listing as far as what's loaded in the chip is concerned. Like this part of the sellers post... So it's unclear if it does or doesn't have anything loaded. Pickit3 hasn't arrive yet, so can't check it out with that. Any other suggestions for looking for activity? Cheers. It's 99% likely blank so what you see is to be expected. (Though the listing seems to say it'll have a bootloader. Apparently it hasn't, or at least not one Windows knows. It would show in Linux...) Easily fixed with the PICkit3 when you have it. Or contact the seller and ask. John |

Yes the listing is rather contradictory, seems a large portion is cut & pasted from the manual, whilst some seems to be the sellers own test in a notably different dialect. PICkit3 is on the slow boat from Hong Kong, ordered April 2nd, and still not here as of the 30th. |
