I see many threads where people try to show photos of devices with LEDs that don't nearly show the true colours.

The LED's intensity is blowing out the camera sensors highlights.

There is a simple solution.

Just illuminate the subject a bit more, generally with some white background present.

The result:-

This, under normal lighting,

Compared to this, with just a 5W reading light over the subject.

Both just taken with my phone.

Hi Phil,

thanks for the tip. In my case (yesterday picture) the problem was that
the LEDs are useing PWM with a high energy (also dim does not help).
The room light was also LED. So my camera electronic gave up.
With enabled flash light the LEDs are not looking nice.
The best seems to be a day light pictures, but also for this
the PWM makes trouble.

Any ida?

Best way to beat the PWM would be a shutter speed low enough to vatch a few blinks.

Easy on a DSLR, but not sure how you will go with a phone.

I it lets you slow the shutter, try 1/30th second.
