Greetings, I recently experienced quite a frustrating (infuriating, even) experience with a dishonest Chinese vendor ("worldchips" / Zhang Tao) on EBay. I bought a couple ILI9341 2.4" touch/display panels from them last year, and since I had been satisfied with their service back then, I ordered two more a couple of months ago. Alas, the latter were received dead on arrival. The vendor kept delaying my request for reimbursement, pointing me to howtos (like if I were a novice hobbyist, even after I told them I had 35+ years of experience in computing/programming and 40+ years in electronics), and I finally asked PayPal to resolve the dispute, which they did, stating I was indeed entitled for a reimbursement, on the condition of sending back (with tracking info) the faulty devices to the vendor: problem, the cost of such a shipping back to China is over twice the cost I paid for those faulty displays !!! So, I'm now left with two panels that will end up into the trash, and the total cost of the 4 panels (in total) I bought from "worldchips" on Ebay suddenly raised from $6 to $12 per panel !... At this price, I'm starting to wonder if it won't be wiser to buy such LCD display/touch panels from a well established supplier in Europe or USA... So, my question is: do you guys know about any such supplier (my searches on Internet proved fruitless) ? Or do you know a *reliable* and *honest* supplier on EBay ? If not, won't it be a good idea to make a grouped order for all interested members of this forum, so to cut down the risks (the shipping cost for a possible return of faulty panels, or the cost for their loss being then divided by the total amount of panels that were ordered) ? |

Hi piclover, I used this supplier for the 2.4" and 2.8" ILI9341 -ILI9341 Didn't have a problem, although my display's weren't DOA. This one was good for the SSD1963 - SSD1963 Have had a problem, a couple of times, with items not turning up. Seller was always happy to accomodate but I still never got my items. In the end, because they were so cheap, I gave up and just 'red flagged' them. ![]() That's the trouble with doing business overseas. It's a bit like gambling. Never bet more than you can afford to lose. There are 10 kinds of people in the world. Those that understand binary and those that don't. |

Well, I've bought all sorts of goods overseas (and always with good services and guarantees from established vendors), but rarely on EBay: the latter is indeed a total lottery, thus why I'm trying to find an alternative now, via this thread... |

We are actually using 2.2" IlI9341 without the touch controller in a product. We tried sourcing those screens from multiple suppliers in China for months. We even had a contact in China trying to lock down a source for us. The end result was a lot of time spent only to find out there are no reliable suppliers for those screens. We were also told that there are part shortages for making them as well. Various sales people buy up the supply from the manufacture right away so sourcing larger quantities was impossible. We got several samples and they were all different not consistent as well. In the end we are just making them ourselves. I have a good supply source for the screen with the ILI9341 chip on it, but we are making a non touch version. Maybe someone on here could do a touch design version. Just a thought. |

Had a similar situation; return postage too expensive. Figured forget it, and didn't bother. Some moths later PayPal refunded me as I had not accepted the sellers resolution. Was only a sub $20.00 purchase. Cheers. |
