I wonder would it be feasible if the drivers supplied as built-in with the MM+, are upgraded to support the RD pin as well? This could be done if additional optional parameter specifying the RD pin is added to the OPTION LCDPANEL command. If it is missing - no RD pin will be assigned, otherwise the specified pin number will be used for the read signal. I think having support for reading from the LCD opens a whole new world for graphics and even memory expansion. Thoughts? Thanks http://rittle.org -------------- |

I presume that you are referring to the SSD1963 drivers and this is something I am planning for a future version. Peter Mather has done some great work in this area. The main issue is working out how this feature will be used within MMBasic. Geoff Geoff Graham - http://geoffg.net |

The R61505V also has an updated RD pin based driver that adds the "objects over objects" effect, so on the next PCB turn, will be adding the pin... I am having a hard time getting to understand how to properly implement all the functions of the driver code... Anyway, I too wanted to chime-in on the RD pin thing, cause I think having this will greatly help when creating more complicated GUI controls for the end user... Making it easy to implement system device controls... Possibly taking this a step further, if we could somehow create an app to have the end user take a baseline selection of objects, a graphical editor (simulator?) to allow the end user to "dress" the control, (colors,shape,set-points,trigger types.. ect... ) and then save the construct for later use. Hit a button, and the text window would spit out a basic (pun intended) ![]() Just more thoughts... ![]() Thanks Gent's |
