Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

There is also the Chameleon PIC which uses the PIC24 for computing and a Propeller for VGA, NTSC/PAL, Audio and Keyboard input.

The PIC24 in the Chameleon can communicate with 4 SPI devices. The first one is the Propeller, the second is a 1 MBit EEPROM and the last 2 are user defined. The 170 is pin and volt compatible to the PIC24 used and is in a socket so the PIC24 can be replaced with the 170. MMBasic has the SPI mapped differently than the Chameleon so it would have to be remapped and compiled to work with it. Also the PIC24 is driven by a 5 MHz crystal in a PLL for 40 MHz. I'm not sure if the 170 timing can be configured to run a 5 MHz PLL.

I have the Chameleon PIC and it would be an interesting project but right now I'm too busy to do it Edited by micronut 2016-06-18
