Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi Guys

I've bought the LCD backpack kit from SC and have constructed it and it all works fine with the clock software programmed in from SC.

I'm now trying to connect to it using a CP2102 USB to Serial interface again from SC and I've got it to connect using Tera Term and have the banner on the screen but that's as far as it gets - I don't have the ">" symbol so can't do anything.

I believe the setup is correct with the Rx and Tx pins as I'm seeing the banner in the emulator.

Any ideas?

I have ordered a Pickit 3 so I can reflash at some stage just don't have it yet.

Thanks

Hi Thirsty,

As it is programmed with the clock it is 'auto running' that program.
Press ctrl + C and the command prompt should appear.
MMedit, if you ever use it, does that for you.
Note that it will 'stop running' the program.Edited by mikeb 2016-07-10

Great thanks Mike. Works now :)

I was trying MMEdit but I was having the same problem. I just now clicked the "send ^C" button and that worked too

Thanks again for the quick response
