Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I designed i hope a more user friendly version of my USB/Serial with integrated PIC32 programmer.

It is now more breadboard friendly and can even be split into two parts separating the USB/Power and the USB/Serial/Programmer parts in little individual boards.
When split it can stil be used on a breadboard as the pins are lined up.

This allows more freedom to use it, and the USB/Serial/Programmer part comes in a DIP14 footprint which allows easy addition to your own board.

The USB/Serial/Programmer has all the parts needed even a Mode switch to switch between USB/Serial and Programmer mode. Even a indicator led to see which mode is active. This will minimise the external parts needed but still allows you to optimally place a USB connector of your choice as some like mini and some like micro, smd or through hole..

Looks pretty good - will the two parts be available separately?
I tend to use mcp2200's for serial-usb bridge but that requires
extra component$

Yes, I still have to figure out the best pcb shape for manufacturing.
Plan is to have them combined and separate.
