I'm having problems getting the electra router to work after it stopped after a few weeks of use (problem being sorted by Kov.com)
I have in the settings changed the internal router to the shape router which I have to say is very fast much faster than electra was so the question is which is the better router in your opinion and what advantages does electra have over the shape router?

Wasn't aware that electra is a shape router itself, so to stop confusion why is there the option to go shape or electra and why is the shape option then faster then when I was using electra?
Hope there are some Autotrax users here that might know?

I have found the Doc register on the back shed website and lo and behold a tutorial on using autotrax by Mick Gulavson

Quote  DEX has its own Internal router but at this stage it is really just a
`horizontal one layer and vertical the other’ type router and very basic in
comparison to Electra.

Also found the way to enter the directory electa is in so this might solve my problem? Will test it when I can.

Have you found the PCB Manufacturing sub-forum
http://www.thebackshed.com/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=18

I use DEX but my requirements led me to manual routing. Something which I am still slow at but slowly getting boards produced (by CNC)

Hi skylight, All,

What is the problem (reported errors, results etc) you get when running ELECTRA?

the free electra is limited to 250holes and possibly size constraints. Could you be outside that requirement.

@All,

For those interested in the tutorial I wrote the thread can be found HERE!!!!

Kind Regards,

Mick

Hi Mick, Tassy
I'm glad i found the tutorial it has helped immensly.
I have fixed the electra problem( looking in correct directory now) and the only niggle is a small delay and then having to click the ok button on the electra splashscreen that comes up before it autoroutes, many thanks

Note: you may or may not have received an email telling you the website has moved? You must download the latest version (higher than 8.91) to continue to receive update notices. Get latest update here: Autotrax Dex latest Version
