kiiid (ie, Konstantin, creator of the ELLO computer ) and myself have come to an agreement about how MMBasic will be implemented and maintained for the ELLO computer and this brief notice is just to let everyone know the results. Kon will release a version of MMBasic specific for the ELLO which will contain some special features suited to a general purpose computer (extended character set, bootloader, etc). Other than these features the ELLO version of MMBasic will be essentially the same as the general release and Kon will keep the ELLO version updated when I come out with a new version. I also plan to integrate some of Kon's innovative features back into the general release of MMBasic but that will depend on a number of factors including how much flash memory is available after the general computer features and embedded controller features have been implemented. Perhaps in the future we will need two versions of MMBasic running on the MX470 chip, one optimised for embedded work and the other for general computer usage. Kon has done a wonderful job creating the ELLO and if everything works out it as it should it will be a huge success. This could be the start of something big.
