When I connect the Explore 100 via USB to my computer I get "USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNISED". Is there a driver that needs to be installed to get it to work. In the Micromite Plus Addendum there is mention of a driver to download but the link leads to "HTTP 404 - File not found". ![]() Regards PS forgot to mention I am using Windows 10 |

All good, figured it out. Needs to be connected to 5v via Connector 1 AND USB with jumper removed... Happy New Year everyone. |

If by "USB jumper" you mean J1 - and I expect you do - then yes, correct. J1 is ONLY to be installed if you want to power the E100 from the USB cable. Otherwise, it needs to be left OFF or the on-board 5v power will try to mix with the USB 5v, which is not a good thing. Glad you worked it out. ![]() The USB on the MM+ can be problematic, and many on the forums - myself included - now use external USB-Serial adaptors such as these ones here for US one buck thirty eight! EDIT: Also, if you happen to have a 7" LCD connected, they can be rather thirsty for current, and some USB ports will perhaps refuse to give you more then 500mA without a mass-storage PID. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Thanks Grogster, and yes I did mean J1. I was expecting to be able to power from USB and use it as a serial connection at the same time. No problems though all is good except that my wife has her eyes on it for auto watering her garden. I knew I should not have shown her Geoff's demo program..... |
