Hi Guys. I thought it better to start a new thread, since I've not found a supplier of suitable built MicroMite modules for Snoopy's Robot Boats. I hope I may get a knowledgeable response from someone on this forum, such as Big Mick.

Is it possible that we might misuse this Arduino Uno-R3, simply replacing the 28 pin chip by a 28 pin MicroMite ?

I think one of the reasons that you haven't got a reply is that many of us don't have time to wade through reams of text in your posts or on your website to try and deduce the requirement.

If you post a simple specification of what you need with a complete list of peripheral connections including details of the overall dimensions and physical connectors required then I'm sure someone can help you. Edited by matherp 2017-03-26

Sorry that I don't have more time to make my pages tidier. Do any of you guys above have some good examples of your own to show us ? :-)

if you're not after the absolute minimum power consumption, an explore-28 module may fill some of your needs: same footprint as an arduino nano, onboard USB to serial and 3v3 regulator, breadboard friendly. there have been a couple of threads about it on the forum.

Thanks Rob. But just to make sure you all know the requirement: it's for professionally assembled "Autopilot" modules, software and hardware compatible with those pictures above. e.g. with groups of 3 or 4 rising pins to take direct Futuba plugs during testing and acceptance stages. These pins are eventually soldered to. I am NOT in the business of buying components such as PCB. But these suggestions of other modules/kits could be of value to someone who has the right background and experience.

Without either:
* a Circuit Diagram
* Datasheets
* high level block diagram with pin numbers

then it is not possible for someone to sell you ready made PCBs.

I know I am not the only person to have asked you for any of the above, and I can comfortably state that the lack of forthcoming information from you is definitely the reason that no one has been able to sell you pre-assembled MicroMite modules.

PLEASE can you supply ANY of the above without referring people to your multi-page website for them to try and decipher things for themselves (I have been through the pages and I am certain the 'full' requirements are not there).

So does a 'non-MicroMite' PCB module exist?? If so, then as I mentioned previously, the 'brain' can simply be replaced with a MicroMite module such as a MuP2 or indeed an Explore 28 (and minimal track alterations). But without either of the above three bullet points, then IMHO I strongly feel that no-one can do this work for you other than Roy!!

NO!
The diagram shows a PICAXE type serial connection which would need a onboard level converter (Max232). The pictures show a USB UART.

How many servos? The information is contradictory.
What size? No information
Which version of the GPS? Two shown. Onboard or flying lead?

etc.
