Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Has everybody had a look at Glenn's comments (at top of page) about the forum hacking attempts. If you're like me you probably tend to skip over that part of the 'Topics' without really looking. Greg |

yes, thanks for the bump I can't reply to his post but it might be an idea for him to use SSL (HTTPS) even with a self-signed cert we would all trust it and it stops snooping on the traffic. |

HTTPS not an option. They are SQL injection attempts. The errors I get basically mean their attempt failed. Its a hole I plugged many years ago, but for every hole you plug, there's a hacker who can get past it. If you use a unique non-critical forum password, the worst they can do is log in as you and post a message. I have tried to change my password to make it more secure, but the forums reject any attempt to do so: Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Edit Registration. NEW password. NEW password(to confirm) OLD password. Denied message. My NEW password is 14 characters, alpha-numerical. Is there a limit to the length of the password? Perhaps I was making the new one too long? EDIT: I shaved the length of the new password back to 10 characters, and it was accepted, so I am all updated. Old password was only a single word. New one is ten alpha-numerical characters including upper-case, lower-case and numbers which should be reasonably secure. I can't get locked out of the forums - I live here now.....
