Hi folks. :) I have whipped up this HC-12 Click board for the E100 series of MM+ boards, as I needed the HC-12 specifically on the E100 specifically, and somewhat surprisingly there is no HC-12 Click board made by the Click people. ![]() At this stage, I have only got a batch of ten done, but if there was demand, I will panellize the design and get more. US$5 including airmail to anywhere on the planet. They are targeted at the E100, and as the COM port used for the Click modules is 3v3 and the HC-12 has a 5v UART, there are a couple of potential-dividers on the bottom of the board using either 1206 or 0805 resistors. Interestingly, the HC-12 datasheet suggests that it's UART TXD(out) is pulled up to 3v3 along with the RXD, but if you measure the voltage on the module, RXD(in) is pulled to 3v3, and TXD(out) is pulled to Vcc(normally 5v), so the HC-12 actually outputs 5v logic, but receives 3v3 logic - weird. At the end of the day, you could just short out the two 330 resistors, and connect directly as most people probably do anyway - the HC-12 has on-board 1k series resistors, but I tend to be a bit over-cautious! You can program the HC-12 either via the solder-blobs and the GRT header, or you can solder-blob the SET-INT pads, and issue the config commands from the MM+ itself. This allows you to not only configure the module, but also put it to sleep and wake it up again - probably not much use in that if used on the E100, but if you wanted to use the module with another MM such as the 170 on batteries etc, then the ability to sleep the module to save battery power is a good thing. Looks excellent. Do you have anything like these for a antenna's. Says they are 60mm long, but probably easier to get inside a project that the helical spring attached directly to the module. Phil. PS. I'd just like some more HC-12's. There seems to be an issue getting them to arrive over the past few months. 3 orders; First cancelled at the 45 day mark. The second & third are at the 30 day mark now. Makes me wonder if there's a supply issue. |

@ GTG - Thanks. ![]() @ paceman - Yes, I do that for all boards I think might appeal to others, so they can use whatever passives they have. It's USUALLY 0805 or 1206 for most people, so I find. @ Phil23 - Nice little antennas! I will research those some more. As they have 2dB gain, that would in theory help them perform much better then helical springs. Where are you getting your HC-12's from? I never have any problems. I get mine in bulk from Aliexpress - usually 50 or so depending on the job, and they all arrived OK... Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

I have been making my own MikroBus based modules, principaly for the LoRa devices and GPS. I note from the use restrictions that MikroElectronica apply to 'thier' design; You are also allowed to produce and sell your own mikroBUS™ add-on boards as well, as long as you adhere to the pre-defined specifications. The only restriction is that you are not allowed to call your board a “click board” because the name is a trademark of MikroElektronika. $50SAT is Silent but probably still working. I think so - I will have a look. If I find any, I will scrape off the "Click" word, as that really should not be there.... ![]() Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Grogster, Can you please put me down for 6 boards - let me know how much and I will send off payment. Thanks, Doug. ... almost all of the Maximites, the MicromMites, the MM Extremes, the ArmMites, the PicoMite and loving it! |

Probably don't have 8 left, as I have used a few myself so far. ![]() I will look and add up though. I can get more made with my next order to PCB GOGO though. The board is actually now a 1A2 version, as I had made a mistake with one of the tracks in those images at the top of this thread. I will remove the CLICK name from any new ones I get made. With thanks to srnet for pointing that out.... Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |
