Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Thanks Herb,
Delta is fine for this application, as I don't have to change anything in the "box"... just a few wires on the pole (only about 9 feet off the ground...easy. I can live with the losses until the third blade materialises, then back to star with lower rpm and more torque )

I am wondering what kind of coil geometry I would use to get trapezoidal waveforms instead of sine waves. I believe that they too sum to zero in delta, and possibly better shaped for battery charging as they have the square wave top to start with, and a linear transition.... but I have no idea if we can do it from coil geometry, or it is just a solid state solution for driving three phase PM motors...

I think Gordon may have gotten close to this on his original axfx with the square magnets and skinny gaps.... maybe then peak=rms for this wave shape??
