hi i found this motor at the local scrap yard for one dollar. i like to re'wire as star but 8 coils not 9 coils.. 6 magnets with 2 polarity on each magnet n/s ... ![]() the best way to rewire ? |

Is the ruler in inches? If so, thens thats a dollar well spent. It could be a single phase motor. How many wires are coming out, could you take a photo of the other side of the stator? It will still work as a alternator, but you will need to experiment. First up put it together so you can spin it, see how much cogging it has, and how many volts it makes ( AC scale on your meter ) at about 60RPM, or one revolution per second, then you can work out if you need to re-wire it.
