Has anyone sourced new bearings for their F&P, are there better types available?

Dimensions are

OD 1.848" = 46.9392mm
ID 0.982" =24.9428

Appears the factory ones are a sealed ball bearing unit,
I just read a sh*t load on bearing and now totally bamboozled.

I ask because I have a few bearing housings with stuffed bearings and If i'm going to buy them I sure as hell not paying $10 each from our mates in NZ.

I just purchased new bearings through CBC a local bearing supplier last time at about $6.00 each i think.
I am pretty sure they are a standard size metric bearing and are cheaper than imperial bearings.

You can flick the seals out if you want to lower the drag but i choose to leave them in on the outside faces and only remove the inner seals.
You can also get them with a metal dust seal (less drag) or a weather proof rubber seal (more drag)

If you can get a Japanese made bearing they are much higher quality than some other rubbish on the market.

Pete.

Would they last longer? (need to be 8x longer at that price)
