real close to the airport and fairly new suburb <10years so not alot of trees and due to proximity to the airport not alot of massive 2 storey houses.

any thoughts on how high a tower needs to be in a residential area to be useful?

will need to be monopole again, looking for 2KW mill+.

Your biggest problem is going to be the neighbours and council regulations. I would start small and get the locals used to the idea of a wind turbine.

Congrats Karl.

Fairly windy out there , son lives at Morley, just around the corner from you.

Wind turbine... being a sort of up-market area ,you better get friendly with the neighbours, a 30-50 tower with a 2Kw turbine(big) will need some easy going folk around you.
But, knowing the winds they have around there ,keep it down ,like Phill's outfit and you will be very pleased with the results. have you got a workshop?

all the best ,will come visit you when I'm over for the g'kids b'days.

Sounds good Bruce
i've been having some serious pain over the last few weeks and pretty much confined myself to the hotel to stop it from happening.....

I'm under strict instructions to NOT collect any F&P's until we're settled and hard rubbish collections are a treasure at every street corner -right now.

I have seen no less than 5 suitable machines in the last week!!!

NO workshop just a two car garage with some space on the side.... but I do have a pool room and the table stays with the house, written into the contract, complete with the bar stools and table, bought those two massive fridges in the kitchen too (mmm energy hungry)

Full ducted R/C air con mmm 20KW!

previous owner was paying $750 / 8 weeks, i'll halve that the first day i'm in!

1st priority will be to cut use to much less before any generation comes in. I'll get friendly with the neighbours, buy a BBQ and shout some beer.
