What voltage is best for grid tie and is it possible to have put on the site some basic diagrams of how things are set up? with the different voltages A brave man may not live for long, but a careful man does not live at all. |

Hi Pos , 48v is the best in conjunction with a Latronics PVE1200 , you can use a small 48v batt bank or use a Latronics TC48 turbine controller . Go to the Latronics web site and they show block diagrams on how to set it up . POS I also followed Phills lead. A dual f&p will run the PVE to about 50%, with the odd peak being a little higher. 96V is possible with a PVE 2500 but in this case you would want 4 dual stator mills to max it out. In all honesty, mine makes 1.1-1.5KW / day which is a bit of a waste for a $1600 inverter (alvbeit 6 years payback which is OK) My recommendation -use the PL20 as well and run a couple of panels eg 4x 175W 24V panels (series parallel) this will give you max 700W wind power and 700W solar. should be able to pick up the panels for about $2K. this gives you the best of both worlds and utilises your investment in the GTI better. Good luck and welcome to Grid tied wind (we're an elite group of seriously f'd up greenies) Wind is not for the feint hearted, far more exciting than solar and well worth it BUT you will need some wind ![]() Luck favours the well prepared |

Hi Poss If you go solar panels there are direct load panels that have a lower voltage but higher amperage than the battery charging panels giving a higher wattage return at spec voltage. All the best Bob Foolin Around |
