Hello, just built a small turbine at home and all I need to finish off the project is a charge controller. Ive seen plenty of solar charge controllers but im not sure if these are suitable. Ive got a gen that will produce about 30-40volts and 8mps, so can anyone tell me where i can get a hold of someting suitable for under say $75?"Do, or do not... There is no try."

Hiya Sodes,
Go to www.oatleye.com and look for kit 220 thats the 250 watt shunt regulator that was published in the june 2005 siliconchip and for a shunt controller you can't go past the price and if you can solder the value. I've just ordered a second one as my first oatley's shunt regulator looks after my nife batterybank with an 80 watt solar panel. The second one will be used with my first F&P genny and 6-65 watt panels hooked up as 24 volts.
