Hey Guys... I've been thinking of a battery drill clutch to tension a threaded rod on my disc brake fitting. Any one every tried this ? Would like it to tension and reverse tension on the threaded rod ,via a model airplane radio control servo-what u's think . Could have a small sla up there to provide power @ ,say, 12 volts . Battery drills are a dime a dozen these days. Have 2 of them with stuffed batteries, not worth replacing , but the mechanics are perfect .
At present my brake is activated via a nylon fishing line down the tower (I mean a real fishing line ,like we use for deep sea fishing)

Hi Dwyer. Yep, the drill clutch idea is good , but I thought some one might have an electrical Cct or device that senses the current . The cable idea is the easy way -just 200 Mtrs of figure 8 and an on/off switch to activate the pull rod.
prob go this way .
