Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.
Do you have batteries? Because you can't predict what sort of power you will get with a turbine. Most of the time you'll probably (and this is a guess) only get 200w and some time zero watts.
I assume that currently you come home, think "Crap, it's dark" and go fire the generator up and sit being pummeled by photons. Then when you're sick of the photons you stop the generator.
That won't work with wind.

Hi SnowGhost,
I don't have any good battery's yet.I don't have high exspectations for the mill output,so doubt I'll be disappointed. You've sort of got the picture.I would fire the gen up,but I don't like being pummelled by the decibells.Years back I use kero lanterns, then bottle gas lights, but they play up with my worsening asthma. So I use a large torch on the floor in the middle of the room, the light reflects of the ceiling providing diffused light in the room.It works out $1hr.Very romantic if you like that sort of thing! The only time the gen runs is for visiters, for a shower or to do some welding. The old DC welder has had it's day,it was made from the front half of an Austin '50's with an aircraft gen.Sounds like Pah Kettle doesn't it.Cheers Rastussee Rastus graduate advise generously
