Hello,
Does anyone know how much heat the varish on a F&P motor will. handle?
I cast a new mount for it and the manufactor of the plastic resin I used should be cured at 212 Deg for 2 Hrs. Think it'll handle it?
Thanks,Gary

I looked on Wikipedia and it tells me modern wire varnish ( polymer ) insulation is good for 250c

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnet_wire

212c is pretty hot, and 2 hours is a long time to be that hot, I would expect the F&P plastic to melt.

But are we talking C or F?

212f = 100c, boiling point of water. Yes the F&P would be fine.

212c = 413f, platic would be melting.

The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now.

Glen,
Thanks for the reply.... yeah thats what I thought too,oh I was talking degrees. Guess I should have thought of that before buying it....... it can be cured by time but will take a week or so as long as its not real humid. It will be a sloooow process.
Thanks again
Take care my friend
