Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Any suggestions there? Bigger nuts on the U-bolts to Glenn's hub? A wind-free area will also present a problem as I do not have something with a ceiling of 2.8m. Hold a candle outside and see if it goes out?
Unlike wooden props or self-made PVC pipe props the universal nature of the production process (extrusion) hopefully avoids any major dramas.

I will use balancing plates like Glenn suggested in his posts with the wooden props from Dennis Latham but as I am not very handy would like them laser cut but the problem there is how thick they should be if I really need them. They are supposed to have oval bolt holes for adjustment so I rather get a laser to do that. What type of blade are you using?
All i do is stick small lead weights to the ends of the blades with double sided tape till i get a perfect balance then move the lead to the inside and stick in with some silicon.
If you put a dob of silicon in the blades first then the weight dont change and you just need to press the lead into the silicon.
It only takes a fraction of weight at the tips compared to much greater weight at the hub.
I balance down to 1 gram, if you are painting the blades then its easy to add 50g in a coat of paint per blade, so you could add paint as a weight to balance them.Sometimes it just works

Thanks for suggestion. I have not tried it yet but with PVC props the cover at the end appears to be araldited in. You may be talking alu props as fillm (Phil) has suggested your method before.
Good to know that one coat of paint to my PVC props would add 50g, so I have to be much more careful. My kitchen scales may not be that accurate anyway.
With balancing plates I can see one problem rearing its ugly head, namely removing two U-bolts means hoping the remaining U-bolt holds the prop in the same position as before. Working horizontally with props resting on the ground the prop should not move one hopes.Taxation as a means of achieving prosperity is like a man standing inside a bucket trying to lift himself up.
