Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi Darrell
I use the hub out of the washing machine tub, bearings and all, just cut around the bearings leaving some of the Finns on for strength, 5 to 10mills.
Cheers

These two guys manufacture hubs for your project ,plus many other wind genie stuff.
Go to the front page of the forum "Backshed" and you will see their ad on the very top front right hand side.
Most of us just cut the base out of a f&p washing machine ,with a angle grinder or jigsaw. and cleaned it up and I think I put mine into a 3 inch piece of water pipe ,secured with a few strong self tapper screws.
My and many others. posts and photos can be searched by entering our name and using the "search" function ..

Thanks Ben and Amber ,
The top one is a Fisher & Paykel.
The rest are LG .
Not much work has been done on the LG , but I have a couple ,sort of "under -consideration". They look much stronger than the F&P , the bearings and hub arrangement far stronger .
Oz Engineering (Phill M on this forum) , has done a lot of work on both . It would be wise to look up his posts ,he does really good work.
