Hiya I have a 36 pole stat/hub combo. Aluminum wire on the stator, black magnet hub. I'm contemplating rewiring the stator from scratch, with copper enabled wire, around 1mm to 1.2mm diameter. Would anyone know the turns per volt per rpm ratio for the 36 pole stators with black hubs? I did do a little test, but I dont think its that accurate. I wound 20 turns over the existing turns on one pole, and spun the hub at 60 rpm ( one revolution a second ), and got a reading of 0.7v peak to peak on my hand held cro. So thats 0.035 volts peak per turn. Seams a bit low. To get 50v peak on one leg of a phase, or 12 poles, I would need about 120 turns per pole. Thats a lot of work. So before I get started, just wanted to check if anyone knew the actual figures in case mine are out. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. Actually, just thinking. I dont want cut in at 60rpm, more like 180rpm. So that divides the turns by 3. 40 turns per pole is more like it. The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |
