Through the course of my work I had an email from a young fellow in the Netherlands looking for some help with a particular circuit board  ...  and after a few emails back and forth and he had got the board going  ...  I asked him where he works.

Turns out he is an electrical engineer working for a wind generator manufacturer called EAZWind  ...  www.eazwind.com

When I first saw pictures of the generators, I thought they looked pretty small scale  ...  but after reading a bit, discover they have 12 metre diameter wooden blades and are on 15 metre tall towers.

Apparently rated at 10-15kW  ...  and can produce about 25,000 kWh per year.

Cost about 52,000 Euro (~$84,000 AUD) including installation and permits etc.

The company was started by four young guys just out of uni in 2015  ...  who built one for one of their fathers. Once it was built, the neighbouring farmer wanted one also  ...  and it has grown from there. The company has over 50 employees and has built around 400 units already.

I also found a few other articles that gave more detail  ...  twente.com
...  innovationorigins.com
