Hi Folks
Im a new member in th UK. I live off-grid in a narrow boat with my
familly. I have an old Ampiar wind turbine which is rated at 100w along
with 90watts solar PV & a diesel gen which i run on 95% vegetable oil
5%diesel (smells like donuts). I also run a renewable energy sales,
installation and repair business to finance my insatiable appetite for
experimenting with new and odd ways of producing energy. I love this
site and all the reclaime gear i see you all using. Well done I love it

im interested to know more about running the generator off 95% vegie oil.
i know you can stick a vegie oil/diesel mixture in to any diesel engine and it will run, but i thought you couldnt have any more than 40% vegie oil.
did you modify anything for it to run on 95% vegie oil?

Hi there are times that we run out of desel and run it on neat veg oil.Then
i have to give it a squirt of methanol (easystart) to go. no modification
and there is no lift pump its gravity fed with a jerk pump. ill post a photo
soon. i do occasionally run it on some biodesel but only once in a while.
its a single cylinder 8hp machine

Do your homework and read up as there is alot of information on the webs site if you want to find out more vegie oil running on the diesel engine [:o)
