hi there i'm new here and say hello to all member.

My question is about ceiling fan:
i found one there is few time (in france F&P smartdrive are hard to find ) .And when i saw the internal part i thought that it's really near F&P motor .

After putting neo magnet around the stator that is a pma motor like F&P, there is just the tooth ascpect who change and there number ( mm may be this is the hard point ) there is 2 layers of 14 coils (one inside proch to the axe and one outside ).

So my question is could we rewind coils and plug them in the same way that you do it with F&P smartdrive motor???

and Is anybody try it?

Thanks for all

Best Regards

lets see some pics of it.

Postage to France for an F&P is about $160, so kinda prohibitive but I've sent them to USA and Hong Kong.

no reason you couldnt do a rewind, question is, if its worth it, perhaps building an AX-FX is more appropriate if you're going to be winding anyway.

Washing machine generally takes a fair bit of grunt to spin 7.5KG upto 1000rpm as opposed to ceiling fan, spinning up a comparatively tiny load fairly slowly, perhaps 150RPM, hence I cant see it making any meaningful power but its a start, good luck

If this link does not work, search the following "muddy muddy muddman". I hope this helps.

hi , thx fo answering.
Karl J thx for your proposition but it really prohibitive price effectivly and i'm underconstruction of ax_fx and thought after seeing celing that could be something like 60 or 80 W under 12v after putting hard drive magnet like in my ax_fx.
Thx dsmith1427 i've ever seen a good part of and red some fac with him and at the last he his going to rewind his windmill . i found a french realisation who give 60 w just after rewinding but plug in the same way at the original form so all coils in series .
That's why i asked about rewinding and "re"plugging in the F&P motor principle ?

THx again and marry xmas all

Sorry misunderstanding, I was suggesting that the F&P idea was nuts, as cost too high hence the AX-FX idea.
If you're already going down the AX-FX route then thats the go, ceiling fan good for some learning and a bit of fun but no serious power to be had was my thoughts.
