For Homemade wind turbines, how to protect them from high wind speed? How to test the strength of the blades? especially for the PVC-made blades. I heard many commercial wind turbines have an automatic shut down feature to prevent over-speed damage. Can this feature be homemade? If you are intent to reduce your power bills, why not pay wind power cost? |

all depends on the length of the blades, I'd be thinking 2m diameter is about it for PVC blades cut from pipe Luck favours the well prepared |
