sexy! energy ball looks like aurora do a nice VAWT too VAWT 2.25M high x 2.66 diameter = 6m capture area perfectly reasonable for guys here, 2/1 belt drive cant help but think and F&P could do this. Also think the PVC / Aluminium blades would be good for a similar VAWT as opposed to the Lenz type design. Luck favours the well prepared |

What do we make of it? Overrated turbines that bolt to your roof. Pretty much says it all. Nice engineering though. Perry |

I'm with you, John; is that the model they sell to deaf people? That roof has to be the sounding board from hell. There's a video on You Tube somewhere showing this puppy spin (probably no load). I always wonder a little when there's a big "hidden" area at the base. My thoughts are it's hiding an electric motor that spins the thing for the camera. I should talk; I'm currently building a VAWT, but mine will work or it'll become spare parts for the next project! My main shaft rides on upper and lower sealed ball bearings at least. It'll still make noise, but I intend mounting it atop a tower. I've decided to build a proper AxFx three-phase alternator. It's twice the parts and my laziness isn't helping any in that arena, but I'm still pushing forward. It'll likely fly this weekend -- probably without the alternator, but that's in the works.! Nothing difficult is ever easy! Perhaps better stated in the words of Morgan Freeman, "Where there is no struggle, there is no progress!" Copeville, Texas |
