hello everybody

I am about to start building my first windmill, and currently looking to get an f/p motor.

I do have a couple of honda generators that the motor have died in them (they are 1000w and 2000w). will they have the same parts needed as the the f/p motor or should i give it a miss.

look forward to your reply

I'd give them a miss as I'd imagine they are designed to run at 2-3000rpm and 240V thus for a windmill even at 55V out of the 2000W one your looking at 1/5 the voltage so roughly 1/5 the grunt = 400W, then you'll be spinning it at 500rpm = 1/5 of that so perhaps would make 80W at full noise......

F&P's generally are worth a (cheap) box of beer. If you hunt in the hard rubbish they are free.

I used to get them from a washing machine repair centre
now keep in mind I was buying them 20 at a time and doing all the yakka cutting out the bearing blocks etc but I paid $15each for a perfect stator/rotor/shaft/bearing block BUT when I first started visiting he didnt have any rotors/ shafts/bearing blocks, he was just saving the stators for copper value.

He is in Morrabbin melbourne on 1300 139 489.

If you are DESPERATE , I'll go down and pick out a couple for you, Bob needs another rotor too, so the trip would be OK.

I'll hit you for $30 plus postage.

My tip is to find them in hard rubbish for free or drop a six pack at the local washing machine repair place and see how you go, more rewarding that you really did turn rubbish into gold!
