Morning all,

I decided to try build a small lenz2 VAWT with some scrap wood and plastic I had sitting around the shed.

I followed a slightley modified design and put the hard plastic sheet over the two wing frames last night. wing is 32 inches tall (and I think 10inches wide to the curve)

The two wings were joined via a piece of ply on top the wings and it sat on the f&p spline with no magnetic hub.
the statot fitted nicely in a bucket atop a stool and it was ready to go.

with light patchy wind in the back yard the unit needed a little assistance to get going but happily rotated once the breeze got more consistant. It even self started and got up a good spin (~50rpm) for a while.
I then packed up and headed in for the night.

Yes this silly newby didn't take the plans out in the shed with him last night and hmmm well, read on.

It was only this morning I realised I screwed the wings on insdie out . The flat base facing out not in. So what diffence does this make seeing it happily span around the way it was ?
Will it go better once put the other way around?
Does this just mean the wings are working via the disrupted air going through the centre not the cleaner air on the outside?

Don't laugh too loud

Got home today took a few pics of the set-up and then set about swapping it around to how it "should be"
Spins well tonight in the Melbourne breeze. Looks like is get's up to ~70-80 rpm in the gusts.

Still not sure how the inside out set up would have faired. I think it stated easier than the way it is now.
